The music scene in the UAE has witnessed rapid growth in the past few years. According to Statista, the Music Events market is forecasted to generate a revenue of $142.00 million in 2025. With an anticipated annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.14% from 2025 to 2028, the market is projected to reach a total revenue of $146.90 million by 2028. With a growing emphasis on entertainment and the UAE’s vibrant, cultural landscape, the country is attracting a diverse range of melody enthusiasts from across the globe. 

World-Class Venues

The UAE boasts a diverse range of state-of-the-art venues, from intimate clubs and theaters to massive arenas and open-air amphitheaters. Iconic, government-supported venues like the Etihad Arena on Yas Island and the Coca-Cola Arena and Dubai Opera in Dubai are attracting global superstars and hosting major festivals, further contributing to the transformation in the music scene in the country.

Government investments in infrastructure, along with initiatives like Dubai Expo 2020, solidify the UAE’s status as a cultural hub, according to Rajesh Pereira, founder and CEO of Matrix AV. The country boasts world-class venues, cutting-edge rehearsal studios, and a growing number of music festivals.
 
In Coca-Cola Arena alone, over 26 various entertainment events have been scheduled from January till May 2025.  In Abu Dhabi, entertainment continues to boom, notably with Coldplay concerts currently taking place in Zayed Sports City Stadium, attracting over 160,000 attendees.

Impact on Hotel Occupancy

The highlight of this year has got to be the Coldplay concert. The sold-out, 4-day concert has attracted residents and visitors to the UAE. Rikant Pittie, co-founder of EaseMyTrip, noted a significant surge in hotel prices for the concert weekend (January 10-12), with some properties increasing rates by as much as 300%. “Rooms that were previously available for Dh 492 are now priced at Dh 801, and others have risen to over Dh 1,500,” he stated.

Concert attendees looking to stay near Dubai Expo, the designated pickup point at Expo City, may opt for Rove Expo City. Room rates for a stay from January 11 to 12 are priced at Dh1,198 per night. These higher prices will remain in effect until January 14, the concert’s final day. Following the event, rates at Rove Expo City drop to Dh319, representing a 115% increase during the concert period.
